Hardcore Names for WoW Forever

Hardcore follows Normal rules with one brutal change: when your character dies, it stays dead. Dead characters can reportedly move to another ruleset, battlegrounds are off, and the ruleset itself opens after the main launch. That makes Hardcore names a genre of their own. Some players pick something stoic and heroic for a run they intend to take all the way to max level, and others pick a surname that already knows how the story ends.

This generator does both. About half the surnames come from a hand-written bank of darkly funny Hardcore surnames like Dedagain and Alsodied, and the rest are proper lore surnames. Keep the tone on Lore for a serious run, or switch to Funny or Trollish for class puns. Because the first-and-second-name pair must be unique region-wide, a memorable Hardcore name goes quickly. Save your favorites with the star on each result, and keep two or three backup pairs per character ready for the day Hardcore opens.
