Shared Guild & Family Surnames for WoW Forever

WoW Forever lets characters share a second name as long as each full pair is unique, which makes a shared surname the easiest way to show who you play with. This tool generates surnames meant for a whole group, whether you think of yourselves as a guild, a family or a noble house.

Each result works as a character surname: 2 to 12 letters, letters only, a single capital, and no letter repeated three times in a row. The names lean toward sounds that pair well with many different first names, since every member will bring their own.

Agree on the surname before Early Name Reservation opens. Another player can still take a pair like your first name with your group's surname, so each member should have backup first names ready and reserve during the same window.

Use Lore for a believable house name that suits Roleplay. Funny and Trollish make the whole roster part of the joke. Share the link with your group so everyone sees the same options before you vote.

      Frequently asked questions

Can my whole guild share a surname in WoW Forever?

Yes. Only the full first and second name pair must be unique in your region, so every member can use the same surname with a different first name. Agree on it early, because another player could still claim one of your planned pairs first.

When should my guild reserve a shared surname?

During Early Name Reservation, which runs October 27 through November 3, 2026, on a first-come first-served basis. Have every member reserve as early as possible in that window, each with backup first names ready in case a planned pair is taken.

Do shared surnames work on the RP ruleset?

Yes, as long as the surname reads like a believable fantasy family or house name. Guides report that the RP ruleset expects believable names and no funny puns, so pick a Lore surname if any members of your group plan to roleplay.
